Form Letters.

Form letters of rejection.

The worst!

We start getting them once we apply for college and they just keep coming. The more adventurous, creative you are, the more likely you will collect many of these "thanks, but no thanks" forms of communication.

I understand there are volumes of people trying to achieve volumes of goals within limited situations, but a few words about an individual or their idea to distinguish one failed rejection from another would be a nice gesture.

It's called making an effort.

I have always tried to recognize each and every person who inquires with me about an opportunity or idea because that's how I want to be treated on the other end.

I believe that to be good form.

I recently received a form letter of rejection regarding a creative project of mine - theOMies.com. It was extremely disappointing on several levels.

1.

The concept/designs are quite original in comparison to the sea of sameness that exists.

2.

The project has tremendous purpose, raising money (11% of all sales) for families dealing with stress and isolation of autism.

3.

It's just common courtesy to make an effort, especially in this day of massive social connectedness. Not to mention, it looks really bad for any brand to blow off people in such a 1980's manner.

Make an efffort.

Show you actually considered the person or idea.

Be authentic.

Care.

The Tipping Point.

The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire. Just as a single sick person can start an epidemic of the flu, so too can a small but precisely targeted push cause a fashion trend, the popularity of a new product, or a drop in the crime rate.

R is for Risk. R is for Reward.

R is for Risk.

R is for Reward.

The more risk, the more reward.

Really?

Really!

The challenge we all face is operating in a non-risk, temporarily depressed market environment, unless your risk involves technology to some degree (in my opinion). In the tech sect you can risk away and come away with HUGE rewards, if you have the next facebook, groupon and so on. Start up costs are usually lower than hard goods and more ways to use technology ideas are being created daily.

If you want to open a fleet of food trailers with gluten free offerings, the road to risk is going to be rough. R is also for rough.

The solution?

Go for it.

If you truly believe in an idea and that idea is great, you will be rewarded, if you give it everything you have (and then some). The biggest obstacle these days is the biggest obstacle everyday, getting enough capital to support your vision and execution.

Make it happen!

Challenging economy demands GREATNESS!!!

It's out there.

That next great idea.

Create it.

Find it.

Align yourself with it.

If you are going to be successful, especially in a challenging economy, you must have great products, great services, great people and great ideas.

Apple continues to show the world that this is true. The innovative tech company announced this week that its revenues increased a whopping 73 percent, bringing in $46 billion in its first fiscal quarter this year. Apple executives reported profits of more than $13 billion, which translated to $13.87 a share—more than $3 higher than Wall Street expectations. The surging revenues were the result of a busy holiday season, during which the company sold roughly 31 million iPhones, 13.5 million iPads, and 5 million computers.

Incredible numbers for a remarkable brand and motivation for all of us to be great.

It's out there!
